Dr. Chris Petterson and his wife, Mary Jo, donated over $4000 for new band uniform tops. Alumni had been helping out and the Petterson's generous gift put them over-the-top, so to speak.

"The tops were custom-designed to incorporate our school colors and the futuristic look that will help us to be competitive in our local and state marching band circuit," says Trojan Sound Band Director Ms. Cox. "However we still are looking for donors for new Band Uniform pants. The pants are over 22 years old."

"The Band had a need. We wanted to see things done and want to give back to the community," said Mary Jo Petterson, a former teacher in the Palm Beach School District for 28 years. "My husband, Chris, is a Lake Worth graduate, Class of '63. We had gone to the Alumni Spaghetti Dinner in February. The band was there and they performed. We were so impressed with Lake Worth's dedication for a quality Band, so we wanted to help out. Chris and I were so touched and appreciative of the handwritten notes by the students, thanking us for their new uniforms."

"We are excited to bring our look into the 21st century with our new uniform tops and are so grateful for the support of our incredible Alumni Foundation and especially its president, Ms. Carol Webster," Ms. Cox tells us and adds. "Ms. Webster has been instrumental in spreading the word about our growth and successes via email blasts and social media posts. She has put us in contact with some very passionate and generous Alumni and we are incredibly grateful for her continued support and the continued support of our wonderful Alumni."
