"I have always strongly felt that taking care of our minds and bodies are very important and I believe a good first step is just to raise awareness and promote discussion on the topics of mental health. Since the beginning of senior year, I have worked on a documentary that includes interviews with mental health professionals, done research on compliments and how they affect people, created a website, social media flyers, and much more. As an incoming freshman at University of Central Florida who is majoring in sociology, I can say working on this portfolio has provided me with beneficial insight into the mental health world and I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to grow not only as a filmmaker, but as a person."
