"Throughout this school year, I focused mainly on researching specific elements of film, such as costume design or the role music plays in film, and researching my favorite director's biographical backgrounds as well as the techniques they use and what makes their films unique, and created research essays on all of this information. My main goal with these essays and research was to get a better understanding and appreciation of all of the elements that make up a film as well as get a better grasp on the distinctive characteristics and techniques used by some of my most favored directors. I really enjoyed taking a step back from the production part of filmmaking and spending the year learning more information. Though in the future I do not plan to pursue a career in film - as of now - I still am very excited to be able to utilize my love for and knowledge of filmmaking."
