Where did we begin?
This section is an acknowledgement to the entities who have worked extremely hard to bring these documents to our tepu so that we educators at Te Kura o Pakipaki can formulate a clearer direction and sustainable learning pathway for our tamariki, whānau, hāpu and iwi.
Tau Mai Te Reo: Is a cross-agency document for the education sector. It works side by side with Ka Hikitia. The Tau Mai Te Reo is based on all learners and Ka Hikitia is based on Māori Learners. Therefore as we have learners whom are taught through a bilingualism-medium it is important that these are recognised as supportive documents in our journey.
Ngāti Kahungunu Matauranga Strategy 2020: 'Te Tōpuni Tauwhāinga is an organic cultural framework, growing out of local Ngāti Kahungunu cultural traditions; it comes from the iwi, it belongs to the iwi and it is for the iwi to use as a tool and as a taonga to assist with iwi educational development and iwi educational advancement.' Key guidelines such as whakawhānaungatanga, whakaoho, whakaako, whakamana & whakamahi gives local educators guidance to setting learning pathways that are relevant to our iwi. This will be evident in our rautaki mahere as Kahungunutanga requires an influential uplift from within our local education sector.
