Breakouts
Breakouts are games that require students to think critically, problem-solve, collaborate and apply knowledge to a series of puzzles. Based on the ever popular Escape Room phenomena, Breakouts are a way for teachers to assess student’s understanding of material or a fun way to introduce a new idea. Breakouts are developed by looking at the main ideas the teacher wants the students to know. These ideas and concepts are then turned into a variety of puzzles and clues. The students then have a fixed amount of time to solve these challenges, riddles and mysteries in order to “break out”.
If you are interested in playing a Breakout EDU in your classroom, ile@p is able to help you create a game that is specific to your subject matter or help you find a game that is already made and available on the Breakout EDU website.
