About US

ILE@P (Innovative Learning Explorations @ Paideia) is the incubator for sustainable innovation at Paideia School in Atlanta, Georgia. The goal of ile@p is to encourage teachers to continue with the learning process and take risks while designing new teaching strategies and methodologies.

The ILE@P team is made up of three Innovative Teaching Specialists who support teachers as they undertake the sometimes messy and challenging work of innovation. This support takes the form of collaboration on lesson development, training on specific strategies, providing space for discussion groups and reflection, facilitating informal classroom visits, and other ongoing professional development opportunities. This collaborative group helps educators do what they do best, even better.

“For me, [ile@p is about] having the inspiration to try new things. Without programs like ile@p or the PBL training we had in August, I tend to stay in my bubble, teaching the way I always have and the way that is comfortable. This year I have tried numerous new approaches to teaching the same material – some of these I will continue to use and others may get dropped or modified.” -Brian Smith

“In my teaching, I am constantly looking for new ideas and opportunities for collaboration. The ile@p program  provides a space to intentionally think about best teaching practices, cross-classroom collaboration, and learning about new research and ideas for our classroom. I found the discussions, exercises, and projects that went along with ile@p to be incredibly helpful. I also know that I have a supportive group of innovative colleagues who are always willing to talk through ideas, problems, and questions, and I am excited to use them as resources in the future.” -India Stubbs

“ile@p has been a wonderful program for me and my practice. The new ways of instruction has gotten my students excited and kept them engaged. I also benefited from the the expertise and community in case I hit a wall or started to second guess how to implement my ideas. I’m going to keep the lessons I introduced this year and look for ways to expand innovative teaching practices in the years to come.” -Lindsay Reid
