PA Distance Work-Based Learning Pre-Apprenticeship Experience
Description
The Pennsylvania Distance Learning Charter School Work-Based Learning Pre-Apprenticeship Experience allows students to earn credits towards graduation while successfully gaining experience in the workforce to further assist them in preparing for future education and training programs within their selected career pathway.

Aligned to Transition Plan in the IEP
Students can earn up to 1.0 credits elective credits
0.5 for completing the College and Career Readiness Course
0.5 for the Experience
Student Eligibility Criteria
11th-12th Grade Student with a 2.0 GPA or Higher
Has an employer or volunteer willing to sponsor their experience
Has reliable transportation to and from the workplace throughout their experience
Completes and signs a student and parent/guardian contract
Completes the College and Career Readiness Course Prior to the Experience
Student and Parent/Guardian Experience Requirements
Receive a C or above in the College and Career Readiness Course (must compete prior to the experience) or other designated course.
Consistently attend Live Learning Classes throughout the experience
Maintain academic integrity
Works a minimum of 90 hours during WBLE (done in one semester)
Maintain acceptable work performance throughout experience
Report issues or termination of employment or volunteering to your case manager
Complete all paperwork and assignments tied to the experience through the Vector Pathways Program; including but not limited to the following:
Student and Parent/Guardian Contract
Weekly Work Hours Log
Student Employability Self-Evaluation
Employer/Volunteer Requirements
Company/Organization Contract Form
Company/Organization Contact and Clearance/Disclosure Form
Verify Student Hours worked (Weekly)
Employability Evaluation (Completed on behalf of the student)
Report any issues to the students' case manager (late arrival, termination, etc.)
