Graduation Recovery

Purpose:
The Graduation Recovery Program (GR) is  designed to help students recover credit, master more content,  and finish more courses than they would in a traditional school year typically because they are behind in high school credits. This program can be for students who need to recover credits,but it can also be used for enrichment or independent study programs as it has an extensive course elective library. 

How It Works:

• Students are paired with a GR teacher who collaborates with counselors on student course needs, ensures students have access to GR courses, and check in regularly on student progress. 

• Students work independently through self-paced, mastery-based courses until complete.  

• Courses are all set up to start with unit pre-tests that allow students to test out of concepts they are already proficient in.

• All courses completed through the GR program appear on the student transcript as "GR-Course Name."

Eligibility:

The High School Counselor, Principal,  and Assistant Principal identify students who should participate in Graduation Recovery. 

 In order to be eligible for GR, students should be in any one of the following situations:

1. Student is deficient in credits or grade level mastery

2. Student is not on track to graduate with cohort

3. Student is two or more chronological years behind peers

4. Student wants to graduate early

5. Student is striving for enrichment
