These are the steps for searching ProQuest with the advanced search option to find newpaper and magazine articles and other news sources.
STEP 1: Open ProQuest Student Central in your web browser
STEP 2: Click on Advanced Search in upper left
STEP 3. Enter a keyword in the search box. If you enter two words such as rent forgiveness, your results will include any article with both words any place in the article. If you put quotation marks around the keywords, (ex. "rent forgiveness"), your results will only be articles where the words appear as a phrase.
NEXT STEPS: Refining your search results. Drop down menus can be used to specify sources (like The New York Times) or dates ranges.
Working with Search Results. This example shows the results for a search for "rent forgiveness" in The New York Times over the last 12 months on February 16, 2022. Ten articles were found.
Citing and Saving Articles. Buttons in upper right will let you download, email, and cite the article you are reading. The will often be suggestions for related articles.
