As we near the day of our graduation, we have been thinking about what we will miss most about our high school experiences. For each and every one of us, something we will miss is our labs and the Independent Science Research Program as a whole. Through weeks of summer work and visiting our labs once a week (if not more) during the school year, we have gotten to know members of our labs quite well and learned so much. Not only have we practiced pipette work and our coding, but we have learned so much about our peers' work. One of the most special parts of the program has been watching our fellow classmates work through challenges and succeed in their data collection and growing in terms of presentation skills. We are proud of our own work in addition to the work of those around us. We have had the privilege of being in this amazing program for the past three years and we wish we could do it all again.
Our experiences would not have been the same if it were not for Ms. Schmitz, Ms. Machac, and Mr. Holzinger's hard work and dedication. They have guided us through our application process, our lab work, and our paper writing. Most people do not get the chance to do the level of research we have done until college or even graduate school. We would like to thank our families and those who have supported us through this program.
We are forever indebted to the program for instilling a passion for lifelong learning in each of us. We are also extremely thankful to the entire institution for their support of the program. Symposium is a highlight and it would not occur without the facilities staff. We will remember our Science Research memories forever and ever and are grateful for all of the doors that have been opened for us because of this program.
