The Summative ELPAC measures how well English learner students are progressing in English language development across the four domains of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. It is aligned with the 2012 California English Language Development Standards. The purpose of the Summative ELPAC is to measure a student’s progress toward English proficiency and to help determine if the student is ready to be reclassified. This ensures that students continue to receive the support they need to succeed in school.
The Summative ELPAC is a REQUIRED assessment from which a student cannot opt out.
