First-Gen Celebration Week

The Bishop Elevate office recently celebrated First-Gen Celebration Week during the week of November 6th. Each day of the week there was an event / program for first-gen students to celebrate their unique strengths and aspirations by being the first in their families to obtain a 4-year college degree. This is all part of the office's mission to create a supportive network that fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment for first-generation students.

Programming Highlights from First-Gen Celebration Week:

Monday, November 6 | First-Gen OWU Spirit Giveaways
The week started with a First-Gen OWU Celebration Week Spirit Giveaway – from limited edition long-sleeve tees to laptop stickers and backpack buttons.

Tuesday, November 7 | RealiTEA First-Gen Connections
The celebration continued on Tuesday with an opportunity for first-gen students to connect over some boba tea.
