OUSD recently updated its environmental education board policy, recognizing “that climate change is the greatest challenge facing future generations and the critical role education can play in preparing future citizens to be actively engaged in working together to create solutions to this problem” and committING to support the development of multidisciplinary Environmental and Climate Change Literacy (ECCL) curriculum. To further this goal, the OEA Environmental Justice Caucus received funding to promote the development and sharing of curricula which support the teaching of climate literacy at all levels. The Pairs Advancing Climate Teaching (PACT) program supports pairs of teachers to work together to develop climate-related lesson arcs.
