Welcome to OUSD Dual Enrollment!
Upon passing your Dual Enrollment course with a C or higher, you will earn a "GPA Boost", raising your cumulative GPA.
A GPA Boost means an A=5, B=4, and C=3. A "D" letter grade does not earn a GPA boost.
This greatly improves your competitiveness for college!
1 College Unit = 3.33 OUSD HS Credits
A 3 college unit course equals 10 OUSD HS credits in one semester!
DE courses also often fulfill the "a-g" requirements.
For World Language, earning a C or higher in an eligible Peralta World Language course = 20 OUSD high school credits & satisfies the 2-year UC/CSU LOE requirement.
Passing your DE course also earns you college units.
For a "UC/CSU" transferable course, the college units you earn can be "transferred" to a UC or CSU. For others, DE courses fulfill requirements for an Associates degree or Certificate at a community college. This means you've completed a college course that you no longer need to take once you're in college!
How does my Peralta Dual Enrollment final grade get on my OUSD High School Transcript?
At the end of each semester, the OUSD Dual Enrollment team will obtain all Dual Enrollment grades from Peralta. Once received, we load all grades into the OUSD High School Transcripts. You should see your Dual Enrollment final grade on your OUSD transcript about 3-4 weeks after the Peralta course has ended. To verify all records are correct we recommend following the instructions above to obtain your unofficial Peralta transcript, and ensuring the grades listed on your unofficial Peralta transcript match what is listed in your OUSD transcript.
Please note: Concurrent Enrollment courses taken on your own, even if they are through Peralta, will not be listed on your OUSD transcript unless you formally request the records be updated through your high school's counselor.
