Concurrent Enrollment
“Concurrent Enrollment” (CE) refers to when a high school student may sign up for a Peralta College course(s) in a way that is self-managed and independent.
Concurrent Enrollment (CE) is:
A great way to complete real college courses while in high school
Students can earn college units + high school credit
Typically located at the college campus or virtual
Self-managed by students - not facilitated by the high school or school district.

Students must follow the Peralta College policies and procedures, including for enrolling in college courses. Recommended steps for enrolling into Peralta CE courses:
Research desired courses
Meet with high school counselor to determine approval
Complete required Peralta application, processes & deadlines
Enroll in courses (based on availability/eligibility)
Figure out transportation to the Peralta campus, if applicable
Search for/purchase required textbooks/materials, if applicable
Self-advocate for support from Peralta staff and instructor
Obtain Peralta college transcript, share transcript with high school counselor to ensure credits get transferred onto their OUSD high school transcript.

*For Concurrent Enrollment,
up to 15 units per semester are free,
however Peralta adheres to unit enrollment caps for HS students---
9 units max for summer semesters
11 units max for fall/spring semesters.
Provide a copy of your unofficial transcript to your High School Counselor to update your OUSD Transcript with your completed Concurrent Enrollment Peralta courses.
