Our Curriculum

Curriculum for Excellence is the national curriculum for Scottish schools for learners from the ages of 3–18.

At Edinbarnet, we ensure our learning experiences enhance the four capacities outlined in the Curriculum for Excellence. These four capacities are to encourage all children to become: a successful learner, a confident individual, a responsible citizen and an effective contributor.

The Curriculum for Excellence guide:

Early level learning: Age 3 to P1

First level learning: P2, P3, P4

Second level learning: P5, P6, P7

Third/Fourth level learning: S1, S2, S3

Please note that this is a general guide. Learners will progress at their own pace through the curriculum levels, and will be provided with appropriate levels of support and challenge to ensure all children reach their individual potential.
