Wi-Fi
How to connect to WiFi?
Connect to OS-WIFI or OS-BOARDING
If the sign-in page doesn't automatically popup, in your web browser go to http://bbc.com or http://1.1.1.1
If a sign-in page comes up, login using your school username and password
You should now be connected to the internet
What do I do if the WiFi isn't working?
Basics
Make sure you only connect to OS-BOARDING or OS-WIFI
Ensure that you have any VPN switched off before you connect
Pupils are only allowed to connect a maximum of 2 devices
Ensure you have Anti Virus installed on any device you connect to the School system (Including Mobile Phones)
Mobile
Turn off your VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Quit Snapchat - it uses evasive protocol which can sometimes cause problems - read this.
Turn off WiFi Calling
Quit Tor browser or similar - if you don't know what this is then it is unlikely you have it installed.
Go to your Settings and forget the network (OS-BOARDING or OS-WIFI).
Restart your Phone.
Reconnect - if connecting to OS-WIFI, the password is oundleschool
Laptop
Turn off your things like Ī¼Torrent.
Check your computer for malware (See here).
Restart your laptop.
Reconnect - didn't work? Try uninstalling all VPNs and Torrent clients.
If nothing helps, email or visit IT Support in Gascoigne. They are very helpful!
Why can I reach external websites but not school websites?
You may have a DNS issue. If you cannot reach the Intranet (https://portal.oundleschool.org.uk ) but can reach external sites like the BBC then your DNS setting may be incorrect on your device. Please bring it to the IT Dept so we can help solve the problem, or watch the video below if you are on iOS to fix it yourself
