Adverts can be a cause of false categorization, as well as misinterpreted key words in the site.
If a website you want to use is blocked incorrectly, you can request for it to be unblocked and it will be added to the white-list to remain unblocked.

If you try access a site which falls into a blocked category you will be presented with a block screen.
The description tells you why the site was blocked.
If you wish to access a site discuss this with your Tutor and ask them to raise an itsupport request on your behalf it they agree that the site should be open. The reason will need to be adequate, otherwise the site will remain blocked.
Safe search is enabled by default on school browsers and cannot be disabled.
This means that sites deemed unsafe by Google/Bing or other major search vendors will not appear in search results.
Safe search filters out results containing adult and illegal content as well as filtering out sites known to contain malware and viruses.
