Scoil Mochua re-opens on Wednesday the 27th August for all pupils.
Scoil Mochua Annual Field Day:
Our annual field day takes place on Sunday the 29th June following the Patron which will take place after 11am mass. The usual entertainment will be provided with something for adults and children alike. If you can help out in any way could you contact the school as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you there.
Bí Cineálta:
We are currently devising the school’s new anti-bullying policy (Bí Cineálta). A survey will be sent to all parents tomorrow and we would greatly welcome your support in completing it before Friday, 30th.
School Tours:
Payments are now being taken for all school tours. Payment can be made in cash to the school office or online using the schools payment details. Tour dates are as follows:
June 16th: Junior & Senior Infs: Kia Ora Mini Farm - Cost €15
June 11th: 1st & 2nd: 11th June: IOAC, Adventure Centre, Tagoat. Cost €28
June 17th: 3rd & 4th :17th June: The Stables, Gorey. Cost €28.00
June 23rd: 5th/6th: 23rd June: Alive Outside, Bray. Cost €38.00
June 25th: End of year Mass at 10a.m.
Payments due for 2025/2026:
All parents are required to make a payment of €20 towards the cost of art and craft materials, photocopying and for use of reading materials for the coming school year. School books and copies will be covered by the DES grant for this year.
School Uniform:
Children wear knee length navy/black shorts and white PE polo shirt or PE uniform until the holidays, if they so wish. Apply sun cream in the mornings before school and they may need an extra bottle of water.
We remind you that for health and safety reasons only small stud earrings are allowed in school - no dangling / hooped / large earrings. No necklaces.
Clothes Collection:
Time to get clearing out the wardrobes for the summer. We will be holding a clothes collection on Friday, June 13th. Bags may be left at the school any day from Monday, June 9th. This collection will raise funds for our school and also for Laura Lynn charity.
Sacraments:
A huge ‘Thank you’ to all the parents / children and staff involved on First Communion Day and Confirmation Day to help the children celebrate. Particular thanks to the Parents’ Association and all who contributed goodies for the parties afterwards in the Community Centre and to Lisa Crean and Annie Morton for their hard work coordinating readers for Sunday mass. Thanks also to Hyland’s Nursery for the beautiful trees.
End of year Sports Day:
Sports day will be on Thursday, 12th of June (Weather permitting ). A wide array of activities will be provided for all. We hope that the ice-cream van will visit on the day with a treat for everyone.
Rackard League:
Throughout the year our Rackard League hurlers and camogie players have shown excellent commitment and a positive attitude. They have done themselves and our school proud.
Ms. Griffin and Ms. Hogan were very impressed with their willingness to take direction and their ability to play as a team and the support they showed to each other right throughout the season.
Best of luck to our Mini Sevens boys in their semi final today.
Scoil Mochua’s Got Talent:
Auditions for Scoil Mochua’s Got Talent have taken place. Well done to everyone who took part, there is an amazing array of talent in our school and each child should be very proud of themselves.
The final will take place in the Community Centre on Thursday, June 19th at 11:15pm. The music group will also entertain us on the day. All parents and members of our school community are welcome to attend.
School Reports:
School reports will be sent home on Wednesday, June 11th. The school calendar for the coming year will be included in the envelope.
