REGULAR ATTENDANCE: Make sure your child is at school unless ill or a family emergency.
BE ON TIME: Class begins at 8:50 am
BREAKFAST: Make sure your child eats breakfast at home or plans to eat in the cafeteria. Breakfast is served at school from 8:30am-8:50am.
ATTEND CONFERENCES: Attend all scheduled conferences and meetings. It is fine if your child attends with you.
HOMEWORK: In Pre-Kindergarten, students will receive home literacy projects for families to complete together to build literacy concepts. Later in the year, students will receive Star Books, which are emergent literacy books. These books have been read in class many times and the child should be able to read the story to someone at home. Please make sure your child reads nightly. Encourage your child and assist them with their homework. Showing your child you care about their homework motivates them to do well.
ALLERGIES: Let your child's teacher know if there are any food or drug allergies. As we begin family style snack later in the year and in-class celebtrations, we will want to make sure we do not hand out anything harmful for your child.
STAY INFORMED: Check this website frequently! We will update with important information and dates frequently.
COMMUNICATE: Please contact your child's teacher if you have any concerns or questions. We need to know if your child brings home any concerns or is unhappy at school. They don’t always tell us when something is bothering them. Let us know if you don’t understand a note or homework assignment.
GET INVOLVED: There are many ways to be involved with your child's education! Ask your child's teacher about ways you can volunteer or help your child!
**We look forward to a wonderful year working alongside you and your child to make a memorable and successful school year. **
