Homework is an important routine for academic growth. All homework assignments reinforce concepts we have learned throughout the week, and will not contain something your student hasn't learned. Homework is done on a weekly basis and goes home with the students on Friday and is due back to school on Thursday. Homework is done in a designated spiral notebook that will have a new homework assignment sheet inside of it each week. The homework sheet consists of a tic-tac-toe board where the students are required to complete 6 of the 9 boxes in their Homework Notebook. The 3 boxes going vertically down the center column are Required Boxes and the students can choose 3 additional boxes to complete (see example below). If a student completes all 9 boxes then they will be rewarded with a Honor Ticket/Purple Card on our behavior chart. Students who complete all 6 boxes (or more) will be able to participate in our Fun Friday activity. Fun Friday takes place during the last hour on Fridays and is a surprise activity each week (art project, science experiment, free choice, etc.).
However, students who do not turn in their homework, or fail to complete all 6 boxes, will not be able to participate in Fun Friday, and will have to complete their missing homework instead.
