RULE: Double the first consonant of the ‘le’, pattern in ‘ble’, ‘dle’, ‘fle’, ‘gle’, ‘ple’ and ‘tle’, after a short vowel (e.g., bubble, rattle). Note: For the ‘kle’ pattern add ‘c’ (e.g., tickle, freckle).
