We nvestigate the many aspects of utilizing optical fibers inside a nuclear environment. 

We have create a novel fiber design to decouple in real time the effect of radiation induced attenutation. 

We investigate crack detection at high temperatures using Infrared thermography. We work at temperatures of 1000 C .
