For this project I was given the task to create a poem, essay, piece of artwork, or video that addresses voting rights, the second amendment, free expression and protests, or free expression in schools of the workplace. I chose to write a poem addressing the second amendment and expressing my distaste for the state that firearms have put my country in. In the poem I write as if I were talking to someone. That someone more specifically being America. In the poem I illustrate the hypocrisy of the United States as they would rather protect their right to own a firearm, rather than protect the lives they take. For this assignment I received a 100% which I am the utmost grateful for. I put a lot of emotion behind this poem and I am glad that is reflected in my grade.
For this project, me and a group of people were tasked with creating a presentation that explained the effects of the Great Depression on women, African Americans, Mexican Americans, or Asian Americans. My group was assigned with researching and creating a slide presentation on the effects the Great Depression had on women. My group received a 88% for this project. Our instructor stated that we lost points due to several typos, and one of the slides did not have much relation to our topic.Â
