Explanation: In this assignment an experiment was set so that we may find the characteristics of the fibers using tests to compare each fiber. Then use that information to identify unknown fibers.
Reflection: After completing the lab itself, the assignment wasn't all that challenging. All that was left to do for the memo was to compile the most important factors for a report. While in the beginning of the lab I did have some trouble using the microscope in the first section to view a detailed sample of each fiber, I did find it easier over time with each fiber we got to look at.
Explanation: After spending multiple classes learning about the importance of things such as fibers, human and animal hair in identifying suspects or victims in criminal cases. We had to develop an essay about forensic genealogy. Explaining what forensic genealogy is exactly and how it has revolutionized modern criminal investigations.
Reflection: This assignment was very knowledgeable as I got to learn and explore different real-life cases and how each of them were solved. From this I got to see how the advancement of forensic genealogy actually helps us in the modern world. But I also got to research how others may feel about such method, for example how others may see it as an invasion of privacy as their DNA will need to be collected.
