The "Kite Runner" was the first book we read in this class. It was about a young man who made mistakes as a young boy and goes back to fix them. In this group project we were tasked to analyze literary elements in the book and how they contribute to the theme.
To practice for the AP Exam, we were given passages throughout the year to simulate an actually essay from the test. This was the first one we ever did and I received a 74. I used this essay because it shows my improvement as we progressed throughout the curriculum and this was my starting point.
During the year, we took various timed multiple choice test that resembled the AP Exam. In this test, I was able to get a 100. This was an achievement I was proud of because the multiple choice questions are challenging.
This was another timed essay taken to simulate writing an essay on the AP Exam, I received a 78 for my essay but chose it because it represents my growth and progress in this class.
This project revolved around the book "Sing Unburied Sing" which we read in class. In this project we had to make a playlist that resonated with the themes portrayed in the book and then analyzed how they both had similar themes. I enjoyed this project because it was a fun and creative way to break down different themes in the book.
In this assignment, we were given many different poems to choose from and analyse them to then teach the class what we learned. We had to create an essay analyzing the poetry and a google slides to present our information. This was a group project but due to uneven number of students, I had to do mine alone. The work quality could have been better but I was able to complete it in time.
This timed essay was an achievement because it was the best analysis I've written in this class. I was able to get a 95 as a grade and was very proud because I was visually able to see my growth as a writer.
I received a 70 on this multiple choice test, it wasn't the best performance compared to the other test I took during this marking period but it represents my growth as a test taker as I was eventually able to get 80's and 90's on the test that came after.
