Over the years, we have heard many stories which talk about how technology would soon take over our world and we will live upon there ruling if we do not put a end to them. Well, technology just seems to be advancing even more throughout the years so it seems not a lot of people take these stories seriously or pay attention to them as much. There are many stories that highlight how destructive technology can be in various aspects. For our assignment we were to develop our own horror stories. The horror story should highlight the evolution of a single piece of technology. I choose my story on how hidden technology could eventually rebel against its creators. With this project I was able to test out my writing and story telling skills. It took some time to develop a story, but eventually I was able to successfully finish my story.

The Big Six are known as the title, tools, turn, speaker, paraphrasing, and theme. They are used to analyze and discuss poetry. We had gone through the big six and attributes in our class and now we were to use what we learned to analyze a poem of our choosing. The poem that I used was Still I Rise by Maya Angelou. I used the Big Six to analyze the poem part by part. In my presentation I described the significance of each Big Six element used and how it plays a role in the poem. As I made this presentation, I think that I was able to understand what the elements of the Big Six, enough for me to analyze a poem of my choosing.

A blackout poem is when you take a piece of text from a source and redact it's words. We blackout words that we do not need to highlight something else within the text. Our assignment was to take our Ted Talk project topic and use an article that highlights our specific topics. These Blackout poems are supposed to be made just like others, we have to make sure to use as much words as possible throughout the text. It should not only highlight one single paragraph. Since my topic was about immigration, I used an article that spoke about the experiences a few immigrants had to go through as they traveled and arrived in the United States. I wanted to highlight the struggles so I included words that spoke about how much immigrants are struggling. Through this project I was able to showcase my ability in understanding and being able to fully make my own story through the words of another. Since I was able to somewhat relate to the words resonated in the text, I think it was much easier to highlight something that many should hear about.

Since the beginning of February we learned and reviewed a few TED Talk's during class. TED Talks are public speaking presentations given on a certain topic. In the span of a month we were to develop our own Ted Talk to present to the class. We needed to plan and organize our presentation, so that it could go smoothly like the Ted Talks we had seen. I developed my TED Talk on immigration since I felt it is something that I could speak about more strongly because it was something I could relate to. I specially focused my TED Talk on the struggles faced in the camps and cells immigrants are put in when they are detained by the border. I had heard personal stories of there experience in those places and many talked about how it was a struggle. The research was what I seemed to struggle in but once I knew what I wanted to speak about it became less difficult.

In our class, we have been reading the second part of Fahrenheit 451. The book is based on a world were books are banned. Throughout the book we have seen the main character Guy Montag become someone who rebels against the banning of books. To him and others who stay hidden because of the consequences, books are an important part of the way the nation acts. After we had read a section Fahrenheit 451 Part 2, we then had to write a part of what will happen next. The part we had to write about would be after Montag was on his chase and what happened to him through our story. In my story, I decided to start off from the exact final scene we had read. In my story I wanted to describe what he was going through at that moment that he was out of the water. Like for instance, did his plan work, is the hound still out to get him, where is he going to go now? With this writing I was able to test my knowledge in events that could correspond with what could happen in the book.
