The Teacher Education Program at North Carolina Central University, offers a variety of pathways to meet the unique needs of potential students interested in obtaining their North Carolina licensure/certificate. Include in the list of pathways for alternative licensure pathways are the Teacher Assistant to Teacher Professionals (TA2TP); Flexible Learner Path in Elementary Education, and Residency Program.
Session I: TA2TP: (10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.)

The North Carolina Central University School of education can help your goal of certification or graduate studies through an exciting new partnership program, specifically designed to assist teacher assistants and current teachers! Session 2: Flexible Learner Path in Elementary Education: (10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)
The NCCU School of Education offers a Flexible Learner Pathway that prepares teacher assistants and previously unlicensed teachers to gain an additional degree as well as licensure in Elementary Education. While the path follows the same curriculum plan as the traditional second degree and licensure programs in Elementary Education, it takes into account the demands of staff who already work in schools in order to create a more feasible path to program completion.

Session 3: Residency Program: (11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.)
North Carolina Central’s Residency Education for Licensure (REL) is a model designed to assist residency candidates with meeting residency licensure requirements. REL participants can complete coursework with 8 courses with continuous enrollment. REL participants must follow a plan of study and remain enrolled until completion.
