BRITE is seeking young actors ages 13-21 to participate in a REALITY PARTY FOR PARENTS on Saturday, October 11th in Oak Park.
A Reality Party is a safe and mindful staged simulation of a house party created with the intention of shedding light on teen party culture dangers, and to start discussions with parents and adult allies in the community to create healthy change. The Reality Party cast will be the only youth present, as the event is only open to adults.
The Reality Party will feature sensitive topics such as underage drinking, drug use, and discussions on drinking culture, domestic abuse, and sexual assault. There will be no filming of the event and it is for educational and prevention purposes only.
The event will be supervised at all times, and no real drugs or alcohol will be present.
The time commitment would be Saturday, 10/11/2025 from 9am - 6:00pm, with a break for lunch. Lunch and snacks will be provided. We can offer you community service hours for your participation.

The Science of Well-Being
In this course you will engage in a series of challenges designed to increase your own happiness and build more productive habits. As preparation for these tasks, Professor Laurie Santos reveals misconceptions about happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do, and the research that can help us change. You will ultimately be prepared to successfully incorporate a specific wellness activity into your life. 10 weeks (19 hrs).
In this course you will engage in a series of challenges designed to increase your own happiness and build more productive habits.
This FREE 45- minute course is designed to increase awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and encourage participants to be safe and responsible drivers.

UCLA Open Mind Film Festival- The annual Open Mind Film Festival is a creative forum for teenagers to speak out about the mental health crisis impacting many of our youth. High school students throughout the United States are invited to submit short films highlighting their experiences and concerns surrounding this important topic. Submissions are accepted beginning in the fall of each year and finalist films are screened at the festival held the following spring.
VCOE Anti Vape Social Club- Their advocacy and prevention efforts focus on spreading awareness about the dangers of vaping, cannabis, opioid safety and fentanyl awareness.
Red Ribbon Week Theme Submission: Get Involved & Submit Your Theme. Theme submissions for the next year Red Ribbon Week Theme Contest are accepted annually from January 1st to December 4th. Winners receive $500 in Red Ribbon Week-themed merchandise, generously provided by Nimco, Inc., the official supplier of Red Ribbon campaign materials.

Can I use my Chromebook to do homework in the wellness center? --> In the center we encourage no technology use and that includes chromebook. We encourage you to work on homework that does not require a computer or your phone.
Can I eat in the center?--> There is no eating in the wellness center. Eat your lunch first then enter the center.
What if the Center is closed? --> If the center is closed go to the office, the counseling team can help!
If I have a free period can I use the Wellness Center? --> Students can use the center up to 30 minutes if they have a free or just want to do work during class.
