About Mr. O'Brien

Daniel O’Brien is the Science Specialist at Oak Park Independent School, where he teaches a wide range of high-school courses in science, mathematics, English, history, psychology, health, and the arts. An educator in the Conejo Valley since 1997, he previously served as Director of Instrumental Music at Oak Park High School and founded the instrumental music program at Walnut Canyon Elementary School.

He holds a Master of Education degree from Concordia University Irvine and graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Music Education. His background reflects a broad and continuing interest in both the sciences and the humanities.

Daniel believes education should help students become curious, thoughtful, and independent. In addition to teaching, his interests include music, writing, photography, martial arts, history, and lifelong learning. He lives in Moorpark with his wife, Kati.
