The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in our recent community surveys. We are proud to have received more than 400 responses from community members, arts professionals, applicants, grantees, partners, and stakeholders representing every D.C. ward, as well as Maryland and Virginia. This strong participation reflects the breadth and diversity of CAH’s impact across regions, age groups, and racial and ethnic communities. Your insights are invaluable in shaping the future of arts and humanities in the District. 

At the March Commission meeting, Executive Director Myers presented an update on stakeholder engagement completed as part of the Needs Assessment phase of the strategic planning process. The Executive Director's update can be found in the presentation to the left. 

The Commission has now closed its full-length and 1-minute surveys. Thank you to all members of the CAH community who took both or either surveys - your responses have been recorded and will be used to anonymously inform the upcoming strategic plan.

This survey is completely anonymous, takes <15 minutes to complete, and will remain open until March 8, 2026.

The DC Commission on Arts and Humanities held its Commission meeting on January 26, 2026 and shared that Commissioners would be invited to participate in 45-minute confidential, virtual interviews to share their perspectives on Commission work. The Governance Committee will serve as the Strategic Plan Committee as outlined in CAH's bylaws.  

The DC Commission on Arts and Humanities launched the development of its next multi-year Strategic Plan in partnership with Opportunity Consulting. This collaborative process will take place from January - July 2026 and will set a shared vision, priorities, and measurable goals for the Commission’s next chapter. In January, the Commission will share more information about how members of the community, grantees, partner organizations, and the general public can be part of the strategic planning process.
