Officer Mike Mosher

Mike Mosher was a 14.5-year veteran of the Overland Park Police Department, a field training officer, and a community policing officer.

Mosher was also the president of the Overland Park Fraternal Order of Police and was instrumental in organizing many fundraising events that benefit the community, including the Back to School “Fill the Cruiser” Supply Drive, Trunk-or-Treat With Police and Operation Rudolph.

Mosher and another police officer, responding to a call of shots fired, were involved in an ambush shooting in 2018. He later received a Metropolitan Chiefs and Sheriffs Association Officer of the Year award for his actions during that incident.

Mike Mosher was an officer’s officer. As a leader of the Overland Park Fraternal Order of Police, Mike made sure every police officer was treated with respect. He was dedicated, determined, and worked hard to train and protect those who protect us.

Michael graduated from Olathe South High School in 2001.

He then served a mission for his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in Sacramento, California for two years. Upon returning, he attended and graduated from the Central Missouri State University police academy where he graduated in 2005.

Mosher leaves behind a wife, Corinne, a daughter, Tyler, his mother, father, and many family members, friends, and loved ones.

Those who would like to make a donation in memory of Officer Mosher can do so to Harvesters or your local food bank. There will be an opportunity to donate non perishable food items at the drive through visitation on Tuesday. Or, make a donation to the Overland Park Police Officers Foundation.
