4th Grade is a big year for your child. During this year they will deepen their ability to read notated music, explore at greater levels playing as a full class ensemble and begin to compose music of their own. 4th graders spend a great deal more time learning how to play the soprano recorder. We learn more advanced folk dances that connect us to the elements of music and movement, all while exposing us to world history and geography.
In addition to a music focus, my designed curriculum strongly supports the districts Social Emotional Learning standards and Social Justice Standards.
We also spend time exploring various types of music like music from various cultures around the world, opera, folk and symphonic music.
