Growth & Changes in Plants
Welcome to the lesson on the growth and changes of plants!
This lesson is a component of your Grade 3 Science blended learning environment. The next three modules are part of the individual learning process. After that, you will work in small groups in the classroom to complete the assignment that is described on this website.
Overall Expectation:
B1. Relating Science and Technology to Our Changing World: assess ways in which plants are beneficial to society and the environment, and ways in which human activity has an impact on plants and plant habitats
Specific Expectations:
B1.1 assess ways in which plants are important to humans and other living things, taking different perspectives into consideration, and identify ways in which humans can protect native plant species and their habitats
B1.2 assess ways in which human activities have an impact on plants and plant habitats, and identify personal actions that they could take to minimize harmful effects and enhance positive ones
B1.3 assess the benefits and limitations of locally grown food
After finishing the assignment and all of the learning modules, you will be able to:
LO1: Evaluate the ways in which plants benefit people and other living things while taking a variety of viewpoints into account, and determine how people may safeguard native plant species and their environments.
LO2: Evaluate the ways in which human activities affect plants and plant environments, and determine what personal steps individuals should take to reduce negative effects and increase beneficial ones.
LO3: Evaluate the advantages and drawbacks of eating food that is locally grown
LO4: Show that you can make a digital presentation that demonstrates your grasp of the advantages of plants and how they affect people.
