Self-Reflection Tools
Canva was used to create these Reflection Journal pages. You may find these helpful for taking notes, reflecting(there are basic prompt to get you started), noting resources, creating a list of big ideas or making a 'to do' list to help you take action. It is a template which you may copy and adapt however you like to suit your needs, and it can be printed or used electronically as you prefer.
The Neurotypical Privilege Checklist was created using Google Forms, adapted from a 2009 blog post which continues to resonate in Neurodivergent spaces. The form is useful for situating yourself in this learning, as it challenges you to think about a number of experiences you may encounter and consider how you are perceived, treated, and communicated with, and how that varies depending on your neurotype. It challenges you to reflect on your own biases and to consider some of the things you may take for granted.
The Autistic Acceptance Community of Practice Action Board is a great launch pad, created with Padlet, which you can access at any time, and continue to access as we build this community of practice. When accessing the Action Board, you will find practice scenarios to consider and work through both independently and with other users, add and read comments, access and discuss the learning tools, and post your successes and ideas for so we can continue to work in community to foster Autistic Acceptance.
The Allies Take Action for Autistic Acceptance Flip Group is another way to build our community of practice. You may observe and comment on short videos from other users, post an introduction video, and contribute to community posts by submitting more focussed video shorts on a topic related to our co-learning.
The Autistic Acceptance Google Classroom is a living hub which will continue to evolve as our community of practice evolves. You may use the Stream to invite dialogue, ask a question, share your wonderings or collaborate. As the community of practice grows, tools and resources related to the modules and ongoing learning can be added based on your collaborations and the work you do in community to foster Autistic Acceptance.
