This project is designed to support educators in the stages of pre-retirement and early retirement as they navigate increasing engagement with AI-integrated technologies and digital tools. Drawing on evidence-based digtal wellness strategies, this work aims to promote emotional regulation, critical thinking, and reflective digital engagement to support flourishing, or eudaimonia, in middle adulthood. Through both a professional presentation and an accessible website-based toolkit, this project translates research into practical strategies that can support individuals and couples in developing sustainable digital wellness practices that extend into later life.
Supporting digital wellness in middle adulthood is an opportunity for proactive intervention. By fostering emotional awareness, critical engagement with technology, and intentional relational practices, individuals and couples can move beyond digital overwhelm toward meaningful and sustainable engagement with technology. In doing so, digital wellness becomes a pathway to flourishing, supporting identity, relationships, and well-being later in life.
