I typically start my day with fuel to wake up and a team meeting to ensure alignment, ask questions, and energize for the day.
Many of our projects prefer a standup style meeting - a quick summary of progress made yesterday, goals for the day, and any blockers standing in our way of success.
I am working on a few specific deliverables for the client - analyzing data provided, noting questions to discuss with my manager or the client, and working towards our project objective. This might be implementing a new technology, supporting a change management initiative or developing a new product.
Depending on the day, I may have dedicated time to focus and work or I may have meetings with my project team or clients to answer questions, dive into details or drive alignment. Either way, I love the easy access I have to my Qvest.US team leveraging Slack.
After a morning hard at work, it's nice to take a moment to step away to grab lunch, stretch or go for a brisk walk, and recharge.
When in the office, this is usually a trip to the client cafeteria with my team or a walk around the campus while listening to a podcast. If I'm working at home, I typically heat some leftovers and take a brain break to play with my dog or take a neighborhood walk.
Mid-afternoon is primetime for client meetings. My project team meets weekly for a stakeholder status and my manager leads the session to provide status, escalate potential risk and review the timeline. I capture notes, highlighting key actions, decisions and dates.
In the last couple hours of the day, I'm cleaning up meeting notes from our afternoon status meeting and sending them off to make sure our team & the client are aligned on key decisions and action items.
I use this time to knock a few action items off my own to-do list, including scheduling a few upcoming meetings and updating a deliverable based on feedback from my manager. This is also about the time I make my way to the kitchen for my 4th coffee of the day!
Before signing off and heading out, I make sure all of today's tasks are wrapped up. I am prepped for all of tomorrow's meetings, and have provided a quick update to my team on my open items. After a busy day, I'm ready to decompress & recharge for tomorrow!
