This qualification is equivalent to a GCSE Award. It is written and marked in consultation with CCEA, the awarding body of Northern Ireland.
There are three contexts for learning within the Manx TCG, these are
Identity, Lifestyle, and Culture
Local, National, International, and Global Areas of Interest
School Life, Studies, and the World of Work
These learning contexts aim to make the Manx language relevant to students' daily lives, forge a strong connection to the Island, and empower students to confidently use their language within the wider Manx community.
The Course Organiser will provide all books, sound files and learning materials.
Students will complete four assessments of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing with each skill area weighted equally.
All tests and coursework should be completed by the end of Term 3.
There are four elements of controlled assessment to be completed during the course. Students are allowed two weeks to complete each task.
Students will have studied Manx at Key Stage 3 and have a strong commitment to furthering their knowledge of the language. Extra-curricular lessons may be available.
