Week 1:

Students may choose 3 books and identify their Genre as nonfiction, historical fiction, science fiction, realistic fiction. Ongoing: Students may choose a book and read daily.


Week 2:

Students may choose one book from last week and describe in 2-3 sentences, what makes this book the Genre you identified it to be.


Week 3:

Students may write a one paragraph description of their all-time favorite book and explain which genre category it falls into and why.

Websites and Videos:

Who Was series and Magic Schoolbus on Netflix...we have many of the books from this series in our elementary library and they help students learn about real people and real events in history.

Storylineonline features books read aloud by famous actors and actresses.
