COLLEGE ADMISSION REPS VISITING OHS
Many college admission representatives come to Olympia just to talk to students face-to-face. This is still an important recruiting tool for them. They want to go over what academic programs they offer as well as walk students through applying for admission, scholarships, and special programs. Students can sign up for college rep visits by going to Events in SchooLinks and clicking on the Engage tab on the left-hand side menu. A list of colleges visiting will appear. Please register by clicking on the college visit Event and then clicking on the "Register for this Event". To view a calendar of college rep visits, click here. Students should then get a pass from the front office for their visit.
SCHEDULING A CAMPUS VISIT
There is no substitute for seeing a college yourself! There are a lot of ways to find out information about a college, but nothing is better than stepping foot on a college campus. Campus visits are in the form of open houses, individual visits, campus tours, and overnight visits. Look at the Undergraduate Admission/Visit page of a university to see all of their options. Every campus is different in what they offer. You will likely need to register for your visit via their Admission/Visit website.
If you are planning to attend a campus visit during the school day, you will need to complete the COLLEGE VISIT FORM one week prior to attending your visit. Your teachers, parents, and principal will need to sign this form. You will take the form on your campus visit and get a signature from a college representative. Please return the form to the main office the day after your visit. Juniors and seniors are excused from school 3 days each year. More details about college visit attendance policy is in the Student Handbook on page 29 (Item C).
