Drivers Education

Drivers Education is offered at Olympia High School for all students residing in the district. Students can be added to the rosters during the standard course selection process. Rosters are created based on course requests, academic eligibility, and fit. Some students may not be able to fit in drivers education in their preferred term due to course conflicts. If you have any questions on this, please make an appointment to speak to your counselor.

To apply for a driver's license at age 16, a student who has held an instruction permit for nine months must visit a Driver Services facility and provide the following: 50 hour certificate verifying practice driving time; written parental consent; acceptable identification verifying full legal name, written signature, date of birth, Social Security number and Illinois residency and the required fee.Â
