What does immediate preparation for Confirmation look like?
What does immediate preparation for Confirmation look like?
Wednesday Class: It is important to make it to every class. Please communicte if you have a conflict or illness. We will end classes on Wednesdays with either Mass or Adoration & Confessions. Class is pointless if we do not spend time in prayer. Faith is about a relationshiop with Jesus. We cannot confirm you if you do not spend time with the Lord. Please do not pick up your children prior to Mass or Adoration. This is a vital part of the class.
Sunday Class: Once a month Confirmation candidates and their parents are asked to join us for a session. Parents will join us in the parish hall while candidates will go to their assigned classroom. This is not a "class" like we think of it, but rather Confirmation focused youth ministry with guided discussions.
Retreat/Service/Experience: Retreats and service are more faith-inducing than classes according to much and so we are also providing these opportunities. November - Parish Festival, December - Family At Home Retreat, March - Weekend Retreat. Please attend all. If you have a conflict with one, please talk to Ms. Cyndy because she can be creative.
Take Home/Self Prep: This is not "homework." What I give you to take home is "relationship work." Our faith is not only a personal one but a communal one. And one of the other main components of growing in the faith is relationship with our faithful adults. A letter to Fr. Martin introducing themselves and why they are seeking the sacrament of Confirmtion. They will also research and hopefully build a relationship with a saint of their choosing. The candidate and their sponsor will have activities to gudie them through faith discussions.
