Expectations from OGS Students

Student Responsibility for Distance Learning

All students are expected to routinely keep up with classwork posted by their respective teachers in the following manner:

  1. The student must be available online at 9:00 am (11:00 am during Ramadan) via ZOOM to join his/her online live class as per the regular class schedule.

  2. Check Google Classroom daily for posted work by his/her teacher. From Grades 6 and up, please check the work posted by each subject teacher. Any homework for the next day will be posted by 5:00 pm on Google Classroom.

  3. Each teacher will be available between 9:00 am to 1:20 pm for OGS/OGMS and 9:00 am to 1:50 pm for OGHS, Monday through Friday. Click below for the class schedules.

  1. Students can reach the teachers via email during the school day. Emails sent after 2:00 pm will be responded to within 24 hours.

  2. It is the responsibility of the student to submit the assigned work on time. Work not submitted by due date will be marked late.

  3. Student participation will be logged in based on student's online activity in class as well as work submitted in a timely fashion.

  4. Attendance will be recorded and assessments will be made for report card purposes. Students will be held accountable if lagging work is observed consistently.

  5. Also note that the Guidance Counselor will be available online on specified times via appointment. Please keep up to date with the schedule to benefit from this.

Points to remember......

  • Log in daily to join your live class session by 9:00am

  • Adhere to all the rules and etiquette expected in a classroom setting

  • Be available online during different live class sessions and ensure engagement and participation to make the class interactive

  • Submit all assigned work on time

  • Limit online activity to what is needed, and not spend excessive times online otherwise on devices (OGS provisioned Chromebooks will only be usable between 8am and 10pm)

  • Remain calm, relax and spend quality time with your family

  • Remember to pray and ask Allah SWT for the health and safety of the global community
