  • Why was re-registration deducted?

The re-registration fee is a commitment made by parents in the first week of March, which shows intent to return in the new school year and thus, secure a spot for your child. This allows us to plan ahead and ensure that we are prepared to welcome our students with the best available facility to meet both their academic as well as physical needs. This is in no way related to the current period of Distant Learning and hence, was deducted on April 1st as per our annual planning.

  • Will school consider reducing tuition? What if I have been directly impacted financially by the crisis?

We recognize that we are in unprecedented times right now and many of us have been impacted directly by the crisis. This is the time when we need to come together as a community more than ever before. Hence, we emphasize the fact that we are here for you and ensure that we will do everything possible to prevent any disruption of your child's education. We request all families who are struggling financially to directly approach us to discuss a plan for the next couple of months. Though it is not possible to make fee reductions across the board, we are making exceptions for those who have been affected by the crisis. Please contact us at info@olivegroveschool.ca to explain your situation to us.

  • Why were some staff members, included EA's laid off?

The uncertainty with the current situation has forced us all to make tough decisions. Laying off some of our dedicated staff members has been one such decision that we had to make in order to ensure our economic stability. As difficult as it was, we want to emphasize that this decision was in no way reflective of their efficiency and that this is a temporary situation for them. We have every intention to reinstate our laid off staff as soon as possible.

  • Will OGS be availing government subsidy?
