Healthcare

The OKCPS Health Careers Program offers high school students a hands-on introduction to various health science careers. Students will gain the skills and experiences needed to obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant certification and other industry-recognized credentials. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to extend their training in practical nursing or pursue other health fields in college or career tech programs.

Aviation

The Aviation program is a four-year journey into aviation and aerospace! With two exciting STEM pathways—Pilot and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones)—students build critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and math. Participation in this program opens up a world of opportunities for students, preparing them for a wide range of exciting careers in the aviation and aerospace industry. Whether their interests lie in piloting, drone operation, or other aerospace professions, this program lays the groundwork for their success.

Biotechnology

This comprehensive program immerses students in the fascinating world of biotechnology, providing them with a strong foundation in hands-on lab skills and critical thinking tools. Students explore cutting-edge fields, including gene therapy and sustainable development, gaining lab skills and critical thinking tools. With real-world applications, this program prepares students for exciting careers and further education in medicine, food production, and environmental solutions.

Film

In partnership with Oklahoma City Community College, Metro Tech, and Scissortail Studios, the OKCPS Film Production Program offers high school students the chance to earn industry certifications and gain hands-on experience. Students will learn film theory, scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, editing, production design, sound production, and project management. This program prepares students for further education in Digital Cinema Production, industry internships, or careers in the film industry.

Agriculture

The Agriscience program provides students with a foundational understanding of agricultural science, focusing specifically on horticultural practices. Students will develop practical skills through hands-on activities, classroom instruction, and real-world experiences as they explore a wide range of topics in the field, including plant biology, soil management, pest control, and sustainable crop production.

This comprehensive culinary program is designed to equip students with a diverse skill set and knowledge base in cooking, food preparation, and business management. The program delivers a well-rounded experience through classroom instruction and practical, hands-on experience in a professional kitchen. With a strong emphasis on providing industry experience, our program combines classroom learning with real-world application.

This program provides a comprehensive foundation for the anticipated growth in automation and manufacturing, preparing students for a dynamic and evolving industry. Manufacturing blends advanced tech and equipment to improve processes. Key areas include Mechatronics (mechanics, electronics, and computing), Industrial Automation (automated control systems), and Precision Machining (high-precision components).

Teacher Preparation

The Teacher Preparation Program is an exciting opportunity for high school students interested in education! Students who complete the program can gain employment with Oklahoma City Public Schools and free tuition toward a bachelor’s degree. This unique program offers a clear pathway to a rewarding career in education and provides invaluable real-world experience and financial support for continued education after graduation.

The Business Careers Program prepares high school students for success in the business world. With courses in marketing, entrepreneurship, and leadership, along with hands-on experience through internships and real-world projects, students build essential skills like communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving for a variety of business careers.

E-Sports

The OKCPS Esports Program provides high school students with the opportunity to develop skills in competitive gaming and esports management. Through a combination of gameplay, strategy development, and team collaboration, students will learn about the esports industry, including game analysis, tournament organization, and digital citizenship. The program emphasizes teamwork, communication, and critical thinking, preparing students for further education or careers in the growing field of esports.
