2021 State Assessment Guidance
OKCPS has various wireless networks available for students, teachers, and staff.
OKCPS - Standard wireless network for use by district devices. This network requires your Active Directory username and password for authentication.
OKCPS-Secure - Wireless network for use by district moblie devices (iPads, Chromebooks, etc.). This network requires a password for authenication that is only known by IT personnel.
OKCPS-Open - Open wireless network requiring no authentication to provide minimal Internet connectivity to anyone.
OKCPS uses a variety of other wireless networks for internal purposes and are not intended for client use.
Please contact the Help Desk (405-587-HELP) if you are having issues connecting to a network or experiencing poor signal strength.
Every classroom, office, gym, and most other areas have wired network drops available for use by distrcit devices.
Should more network drops be needed, or the device connected to the current drop is not working, please contact the Help Desk (405-587-HELP).
We supply and support two models of phones. Refer to the user guides for quick access to phone features
Every 120 days, OKCPS requires users reset their password. Users will usually be prompted on login to their computer. If a user is not prompted, or they need to reset their password prior to the 120 day reset, users should visit the RUP Portal and click the "Help, I forgot my username or password" button.
Passwords must at least 8 characters long and include at least one from each of the following criteria:
Numeric: 1234567890
LowerCaseLetters: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
UpperCaseLetters: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
NonAlphaNumeric: !@#$%
Anyone needing further help with their password should contact the Help Desk (405-587-HELP).
OKCPS uses Gmail as its email service. Users can access their email account clicking the Gmail Icon on the Staff Tools page, or by clicking here. Users can also access their Google Drive and the various other Google services from here.
OKCPS uses a content-filtering utility called "Lightspeed." This allows OKCPS to provide a safe Internet-browsing experience for all users. Occasionally, a website might be blocked that should be allowed. If this occurs, please contact the Help Desk (405-587-HELP).
All staff users are required to sign the Responsible Use Policy when hired by OKCPS.
The following business rules apply to password complexity requirements:
Cannot contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters
Must be at least eight characters in length
Must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
English uppercase characters (A through Z)
English lowercase characters (a through z)
Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
Cannot reuse the previous 24 passwords
Minimum password age is 5 days
Every 120 days, the user will be forced to change their password.
For security reasons, If a user’s computer is in the shop for service, user will have to change their password on next login.
