Transferring Students in OKCPS
OKCPS offers families the opportunity to request a school other than the one assigned to the home address.
The criteria for transfer consideration include:
Capacity - There must be space available in the requested school and grade level without overloading classrooms.
Behavior - Repeated incidents of student discipline at the home school may result in a transfer being approved.
Attendance - Excessive absences may prevent student transfer approval since families must transport students to and from each school on time each day. Transportation is not provided for transfer students.

Requesting a transfer does not guarantee transfer approval as transfer
Transfers are only considered after the needs of students who live in each school's attendance area.
Families need to enroll their students in and plan to attend the school assigned to their residences until they receive transfer approval from the Transfer Office.
K-12 students will be notified of their 2024-2025 transfer status by May 15, 2024.
If a requested transfer is not available in May, families will be given the option to continue on a waiting list to be notified after the first two weeks of the school year.
