STARTING THE DAY! 

EACH Day Teachers (8:00 am - 8:30 am):

• Will be posted/standing in their classroom doorway

• Will greet each student at their classroom door with a greeting of choice.

• Can play music for their students as they are arriving, eating, and working.

• Will remind students to turn in their homework as they enter the classroom (FRIDAY)

• Will check homework and Reading Log for completion and signatures (Reading Log, sight words).

• Will have a Do Now Task for students to work on

• (As time allows) Will quiz individual students on their sight words & math facts

• Will take and record attendance in Infinite Campus

• Will receive King Ca$h for attendance, dressed in uniform, turning in homework and sight words

EACH Day Students (8:00 am - 8:30 am):

• Will greet their teacher at their classroom door with a greeting of choice.

• Will put their personal belongings away (backpacks, lunch boxes, jackets, phones [turned off & put away])

• Will sit in their seat, with a level zero, eating breakfast and completing the Do Now task (Teach Like A Champion 3.0 Technique 20 pg 187)

• Will dispose of their breakfast trash, wipe their desk, and check the floor/pick up & throw away any food & trash

Morning Meetings

TEACHERS:

• EACH DAY beginning at 8:30 teacher will facilitate a Morning Meeting that allows students to build rapport, set apositive tone  for the school day and teach the focused SEL strategy. 

  • Morning Meetings should be conducted immediately at 8:30.

  • Held on a classroom carpet in a circle

  • 15-20 minutes in length (8:30 AM - 8:50 AM)

  • Aligned to the SEL/Morning Meeting Handbook

  • Includes conversations about School Wide Expectations (ROAR here)

  • Celebrates students, class, school, etc...

STUDENTS:

• EACH DAY participate in the Morning Meeting
