ELA and MATH
TEACHERS:
Will unpack standards as a team, and will utilize the OKCPS Standards Overview and District and Site CFAs to backwards design instruction for all Priority Standards.
Will follow OKCPS Pacing Guides.
Will have PRIORITY STANDARD LEARNING TARGETS & SUCCESS CRITERIA visibly posted in the room (FOR THE LESSONS OF THE DAY) THAT IS IDENTIFIABLE AND USED BY THE TEACHER, STUDENTS & OBSERVERS.
Exit Ticket can be used to measure mastery level of a small chunk of the success criteria
Will review the LEARNING TARGETS & SUCCESS CRITERIA with students at the beginning, middle, and end of each lesson.
Will follow the DISTRICT TIER 1 INSTRUCTIONAL FRAMEWORK
Will deliver a WHOLE GROUP LESSON focusing on the PRIORITY STANDARDS outlined in the pacing guides.

EXPLICIT MODELING OR GUIDED DISCOURSE THAT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF TEAM PLANNING (WHAT THE TEACHER WILL SAY)
Scale back “I Do” portion throughout the week, gradually releasing students to complete their work independently.

HOW WILL YOU FACILITATE THE STUDENTS IN MASTERING THE DAILY PRIORITY STANDARD? (TASK)
TRACKED BY THE TEACHER TO DETERMINE THE STUDENT'S PROGRESS TOWARD MASTERING THE STANDARD
IS MONITORED BY THE TEACHER AND USED TO GUIDE INSTRUCTION IN THE MOMENT
ARE STUDENTS MASTERING THE SUCCESS CRITERIA?
IF YES - MOVE TO THE YOU DO - EXIT TICKET/CFA
IF NO - SMALL GROUP, WHOLE CLASS/HALF CLASS RETEACH
YOU DO & SMALL GROUP - 5-10 minutes
STUDENTS WHO SHOW MASTERY DURING THE WE DO WILL MOVE ON TO THE YOU DO (EXIT TICKET/INDEPENDENT TASK) THAT MEASURES MASTERY LEVEL OF THE SPECIFIC SUCCESS CRITERIA FOR THE LESSON
STUDENTS WHO DO NOT SHOW MASTERY DURING THE WE DO WILL MOVE TIER 1 SMALL GROUP:
Focuses on the SUCCESS CRITERIA BEING TAUGHT THAT DAY
Reteaching components of the lesson from the day
Students not in the small group are continuing to work on the YOU DO, or another task aligned to the success criteria for the day.
FRIDAY will be a day of assessments, goal tracking, progress monitoring, and student data talks.
TEACHING STUDENTS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEIR LEARNING
STUDENTS:
Will be able to identify and communicate the Learning Targets for instruction
EACH DAY participate in the WHOLE GROUP LESSON
I DO - Level 0, listening, doing what the teacher does on their own paper
WE DO - Level 1, intentional and planned talk opportunities, team tasks, planned instructional strategies to help students interact with the critical content
YOU DO - Level 0, independent task, CFA/CFU, exit ticket
EACH DAY will participate in the small group (if aggressive monitoring shows it is needed)
If not in a small group, are continuing to work on tasks aligned to the essential standard for the day at Level 0.
