Universal Literacy Instruction Checklist: #7-Small group Tier 1 (at grade level) literacy instruction is consistently adjusted based on student data and aligned with the district’s instructional framework. The instruction allows for repetition and assessment of skill mastery and includes:
Differentiated instruction: focuses on tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Scaffolded instruction: focuses on providing temporary support, guidance, and structure to help students grasp new concepts, skills, or tasks.
Accelerate/Enriched Instruction: focus on providing activities and experiences that stimulate and expand intellectual curiosity while deepening learning beyond the regular curriculum
Desired Outcome: (What will be different if you are successful in addressing Problem of Practice? What are the ideal adult behaviors? What are the ideal student experiences?)
Teachers will be transitioning into small group instruction to effectively differentiate instruction as observed in focus walks and observations with 100% of our PreK-4th grade classrooms.
Wildly Important Goal! 100% of classes will be meeting in 2 small groups by September 29, 2025
